1986
- Darryl and Cheryl Dobie purchased a full-service car wash in Odessa, TX. The facility and equipment was upgraded while remaining open to the public. They were involved, on-site owners directing all daily operations and equipment decisions essential to the car wash. This experience emphasized how important correct equipment selection and installation, maintenance and performance are in this fast-paced, demanding industry.
1989
- A partnership was entered for the purpose of designing, constructing and operating a full-service car wash in San Angelo, TX. This facility became operational in 1990.
1990
- In order to concentrate fully on the original facility, the Dobies sold their interest in the San Angelo wash in mid-1990.
1991
- The Odessa car wash, which had built a solid reputation for quality and superior service, was sold in early 1991.
- The Dobie family moved to Denver, Colorado and purchased the assets of a car wash equipment manufacturer. The decision was made to manufacture only the dryer portion of the system; therefore, effort was concentrated on re-design of the car wash dryer to streamline manufacturing techniques and improve product quality. The new company, named Worldwide Drying Systems, manufactured exclusively in stainless steel and was located in a leased facility.
1992
- Worldwide began building customer confidence by offering personalized service, experienced advice and a durable, state-of-the-art product with clean, simple lines.
- As sales increased, the manufacturing plant was purchased in early 1992. Later that year, a facility more suitable for the operation was constructed.
1995
- Worldwide moved to a larger facility to accommodate the growing demand for its equipment, now both nationally and internationally.
- The company had become the 2nd largest sheet stainless buyer in the Rocky Mountain region.
1997
- At the time of its IPO, a newly formed company purchased Worldwide. To the time of sale, 1000+ systems had been successfully placed in the field around the globe. Under the direction of the original owners, Worldwide had built a solid reputation for integrity and reliability.
2002
- Realizing that sound levels had become a major issue for car wash facilities, a new corporation, Aerodry Systems, LLC, was established in 2002, introducing the industry to a dryer which successfully addressed those concerns. Considerable R&D, along with historical data, preceded the introduction of the Advantage, a stand-alone Drying System. The Base Dryer, also a stand alone system, designed to accommodate operations with space limitations, was added to Aerodry's product line.
2003
- Recognizing the innovative qualities of the systems manufactured by Aerodry Systems, patent applications are filed.
To The Future.....
- As technology advances, Aerodry is committed to progressing with cutting edge techniques, such as the addition of heat to the drying process. Mirroring the concept of our Patented Internal Sound Reduction, the heating unit is also projected to be an integral element designed to work seamlessly with the dryer.
- Aerodry's innovation and dedication to quality promise to again build an industry leader. Having been operators and manufacturers in this fast-paced demanding industry, Aerodry is aware of the challenges owner/operators face on a daily basis. These challenges include both operation of the wash and community demands. In the future as in the past, product excellence will continue to be our primary focus.
