Operator & Manufacturing Experience
History of Performance & Reliability
|
1986 Darryl and Cheryl Dobie purchased a full-service car wash in Odessa, TX. The facility and equipment were upgraded while remaining open to the public They were involved, on-site owners directing all daily operation and equipment decisions essential to a car wash. This experience emphasized the importance of correct equipment selection and installation, maintenance and performance in this fast-paced, demanding business.
1989 A partnership was formed for the purpose of designing, constructing and operating a full-service car wash in San Angelo, TX. This facility became operational in 1990.
1990 In order to concentrate fully on the original wash, the Dobies sold their interest in the San Angelo wash in 1990.
1991 The Odessa car wash, which had built a solid reputation for quality and superior service, was sold in early 1991.
The Dobie family moved to Denver, Colorado and purchased the assets of a carwash equipment manufacturer. The decision was made to manufacture only the dryer portion of the system; therefore, effort was concentrated on re-design of the car wash dryer to streamline manufacturing techniques and improve product quality. The new company, named Worldwide Drying Systems, manufactured exclusively in stainless steel and was located in a leased facility.
1992 Worldwide Drying Systems begain building customer confidence by offering personalized service, experienced advice and a durable, state-of-the-art product with clean, simple lines.
As sales increased, the manufacturing plant was purchased in early 1992. Later that year, a facility more suitable for the operation was constructed.
1995 Worldwide moved to a larger facility to accommodate the growing demand for its equipment in both the national and international drying markets.
The company had become the 2nd largest sheet stainless buyer in the Rocky Mountain region.
1997 At the time of its IPO, a newly formed company purchased Worldwide Drying Systems. To the time of sale, 1000+ systems had been successfully placed in the field around the globe. Under the ownership of the Dobies, Worldwide Drying Systems built a solid reputation for integrity and reliability.
2002 Realizing that sound levels had become a major issue for washes, a new corporation, Aerodry Systems, was established in 2002, introducing a dryer which successfully addressed those concerns. Considerable R&D, along with historical data, preceded the introduction of the Advantage Drying System. The Base Dryer, also a stand-alone, quiet system was designed to accommodate operations with space limitations and was added to Aerodry's product line.
2003 Recognizing the innovative qualities of the systems manufactured by Aerodry, patent applications are filed.
To The Future....... As technology advances, Aerodry is committed to progressing with cutting edge techniques.
Aerodry's innovation and dedication to quality promise to again build an industry leader. Having been operators and manufacturer's, the Dobies are aware of the challenges owner/operators face on a daily basis. These challenges include both the operations of the carwash as well as community demands. In the future as in the past, product excellence will continue to be our primary focus.
